1989 : [3]
An 18m² loft near Vienne (Isère-France): Jean-Michel CHALONS and Patrice DEROUX bet that the graphical programming (G) should revolutionize the computer tools applied to measurement and digital signal processing. LabVIEW takes advantage of Macintosh avant-garde user interface and already reduces the development costs.

Some pioneers within big firms, among which : IFP, Merlin-Gerin (Schneider), DCN-CERDAN, Thomson, Technicatome... rapidly give the opportunity of strong references.
SAPHIR then becomes "Apple Expert" and "National Instruments Alliance member".
We take an active part in the validation of first G compiler and then in its promotion...

1990 : [5]
After having occupied rooms and corridors, the expanding team moves to a village in the Alps, between Chartreuse and Belledonne chains.
A 70 m² garage to spend winter "in the warm" waiting for the fitting jobs in the barn...

1991 : [8]
A 180m² office and a training course room provide a base for 8 employees, with a nice view of the Alps and the Mont-Blanc.
SAPHIR animates various training course levels, thus spreading its knowledge and conviction. Keeping good life quality in a pleasant setting promotes the quality of the service and helps increase business.
Software development activity is enriched with the integration of signal acquisition products.*
1993 : [7]
Boosted by a serie of successfull experiences in labs and test benches, SAPHIR targets more factories and production lines.
In order to initiate partnership with PLC providers, SAPHIR develops its first driver : UnitelVIEW communicates with a network of Telemecanique (Schneider) PLCs.
ModBusVIEW and then S-BusVIEW drivers will later widen the communication field...

1996 : [9]
Originality comes out from marginality...
National Intruments has installed LabVIEW on multiple platforms. The signal acquisition has increased considerably.
The bet is won : the software industry and many colleagues have adopted the "G programming" graphic technology. Lifespan is assured, customers get confident...
SAPHIR extend its fleet of computers harmony with the market : Mac shares and progressively gives up the lace to PC's and workstations...

1999 : 0.81M€
In parallel to "G" programming, SAPHIR maintains know-how on instruction oriented programming "C" is still used for some projects, and overall to encapsulate external routine in order to extend functionnalities in anticipation to the progress LabVIEW versions.2003 : [11]
Saphir is proud of a strong reputation acquired during more than 14 years of involvment and results, in collaboration with the biggest French and international groups.
The human-sized team maintains reactivity and keeps up with technological innovations. Our goal is to be very well-know in our region to offer advanced services to local industries

The barn, which adjoins the main building was renovated to house the training activity.
A "test platform is then fitted in place of the old hall more than 10
computers and various instruments in place of test sequences in
strength before commissioning of the systems developed.
